چکیده

Due to their embedding into an unknown environment, wireless sensor networks are susceptible to adverse environmental conditions. A prime example is external interference, typically caused by 802.11, electric devices or co-located sensor networks, which can drastically influence communication performance. However, radios on sensor nodes provide multiple channels, which can help to alleviate interference problems on a particular channel. In this work, we introduce Chamaeleon, a novel lean, cross-layer protocol extension that helps to overcome external interference problems. Chamaeleon switches an affected set of nodes to a new channel if the need arises based on key network parameters e.g., packet loss and channel backoffs. We present Chamaeleon, detail its TinyOS implementation, and evaluate its performance in diverse scenarios.

Fractional Fourier Transform Based OFDMA for Doubly Dispersive Channels

The performance of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system degrades significantly in doubly dispersive channels. This is due to the fact that exponential sub-carriers do not match the singular functions of this type of channels. To solve this problem, we develop a system whose sub-carriers are chirp functions. This is equivalent to exploiting Fractional Fourier Transform (F...

EXPLOITING TIME DIVERSITY IN SPATIALLY CORRELATED CHANNELS FOR OFDM SYSTEMS G.V.Rangaraj

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier block modulation scheme suitable for wireless communications. It is primarily used in high bit rate systems to mitigate inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused due to delay spread. While the ISI caused by delay spread is an annoyance factor, it also provides multipath diversity advantage if the path gains fade independently. Fo...

Downlink Beamforming for Other-cell Interference Mitigation in Correlated MISO Channels

In this paper, we consider a multi-antenna technique that can mitigate other cell interference (OCI) in correlated multiple-input single-output (MISO) cellular environments. By exploiting the spatial channel information with adjacent cells, the proposed scheme generates a beamforming weight that yields less interference to other users in the adjacent cells, while increasing the signal power to ...

This paper deals with the method to study and improve the interference due to transceiver impairments which occurs due to the some impairments at transmitter and receiver end and other interference such as Multiple access interference sharing of resources like narrow bandwidth and spectral bandwidth in Rayleigh fading channels. Fading is major source of impairment in wireless communications bec...

A Robust MAI Constrained Adaptive Algorithm for Decision Feedback Equalizer for MIMO Communication Systems

Decision feedback equalizer uses prior sensor’s decisions to mitigate damaging effects of intersymbol interference on the received symbols. Due to its inherent non linear nature, decision feedback equalizer outperforms the linear equalizer in case where the intersymbol interference is sever in a communication system. Equalization of multiple input multiple output fast fading channels is a daunt...
